Housing Plan for Workers

In Execution

Arauco commissioned us to develop a plan to support their employees and contractors so they could have access to permanent housing within the context of Chilean existing housing policy. This allowed us to enter for the first time the upper portion of this policy. Given the greater availability of resources, instead of taking one of our more economical housing unit and delivering it in a more complete state, we once again applied the principle of incrementality, but in a scenario of initial andfinal unit of a higher standard. The plan estimates a demand of 9,000 units in about 30 locations, mostly in towns and cities ranging between 10,000 and 20,000 inhabitants. In towns of that size, a housing project, for better or worse, has more impact, especially in such villages, of which there are many in Chile, where the lower urban quality is observed, and therefore any contribution is significant.
