The process of collecting water from a distribution tank is inefficient for two reasons:

1. water is heavy, making it impossible to carry large quantities at a time and

2. containers that can efficiently hold and carry water are not readily available.

Usually, a family needs between 20 to 25 liters of water daily to meet their basic needs to drink, cook, and wash. These simple tasks will require much more time if water has to be collected various times.

Referencing methods of transporting water applied in Africa, ELEMENTAL proposes to roll water instead of carrying it.

Rolling water is a more efficient means of transporting this necessity.

The process – capable by child - consists of:

1. filling plastic bottles with water,

2. placing them inside of tire until compact,

3. lifting the tire upright and

4. rolling the tire alongside you.
