Nota del noticiario central de TVN que muestra cómo los propietarios de las recientemente inauguradas viviendas del proyecto Elemental Renca Antumalal, han ampliado y mejorado sus casa a poco más de un mes de su inauguracón.
Se destaca el ADN de clase media que tienen las viviendas, las cuales pueden llegar, ampliándose, hasta los 70m² y como los habitantes participaron de su diseño y conformación de los barrios.

“The creators of Elemental, an enterprise dedicated to social construction that combines design and quality, will present un one of the most important architectural showcases on the planet: the Triennal of Milan.
The objective of this group of engineers, builders, and architects of the Universidad Católica making up ELEMENTAL is to raise social housing with design, technology that also have economic value.
Since the formation of this enterprise, the members of ELEMENTAL have harvested praise, awards and the satisfaction of having elevated the quality of life of those who have received one of their homes. A similar model to those previously finished was chosen by italian architects to be shown at the Triennal of Milan, one of the three most important architectural showcases in the world.
The model of Elemental housing presented consists of two properties. According to Alejandro Aravena, director of the initiative, there is a house on the first floor, and a two story apartment on the second. The superimposition of these two units is that which permits the extension that are more suitable for work, study and recreation, keys for a poor family. (more)”

Los Quintos Encontros Internacionais de Arquitectura se realizaron en Santiago de Compostela los días 8, 9 y 10 de Noviembre, y contó con la presencia de Thomas Herzog, Shigeru Ban, Zaha Hadid, Rafael Iglesia, Álvaro Siza, entre otros. Alejandro Aravena fue invitado a dictar una charla donde habló de ELEMENTAL y de su enfoque a la arquitectura. El video es la versión oficial entregada por la organización del evento.

Renca shanty town families will have their own homes

The new houses will be located in the Perla condominio Perla, of Renca. There are 170 families, provenientes from four slums of this commune that will receive a new home.
“For me, its a dream. My life’s dream is to have my own home. The my chilcren have their own room, and I my patio, my kitchen. Wonderful.” Expressed a future proprietor.
To acheive this dream, Susana sold bread and números de rifa. Her goal was to save 355 thousand pesos to obtain a subsidy. With this, her family was able to be among the beneficiaries that will live in the new complex…
